Certification is where a lot of skaters get lost, so let us keep it simple. A short track helmet is not a bike helmet

It is a fair question. If a bike helmet is certified to the same EN1078 standard, why not just use one? The answer is coverage and shape. Many road cycling helmets are cut high at the back to save weight and improve airflow for a rider whose head is tipped forward. Skating falls are different. Getting the fit right
